The Luso-Spanish Fisheries Committee (COLEP) met this week to discuss the renewal of the bilateral fisheries agreement between Portugal and Spain. The meeting consisted of two parts: a meeting between the Administrations and, later, a meeting of both Administrations with the sector.
COLEP will meet again next September to discuss a first working document, which is intended to be adopted before the end of 2017. The Committee also reviewed the situation of the sardine fishery and agreed to maintain the same measures that are being applied so far until knowing the results of the scientific evaluation.
